Resumen : This study shows that biogas is a real option for sustainable energy supply, with substantial advantages over other sources in addition to contributing to the decline in consumption of fossil fuels and energy sources in this particular case are expensive and difficult to access, reduces the effect of local and regional pollution in the barn "the Montano" and helps to strengthen the family economy. The LFG importance lies in the fact that Mexico is projected as a deficit country in the production of gas, so one of the most viable alternative is to invest in biogas which can occur with the excreta of cattle in the barn because they are basic elements in the production of methane and carbon dioxide, which unfortunately are not utilized and instead create a source of contamination from the standpoint of environmental, physical, visual and economic development. In the barn "The Montano" takes the serious problem of not having a suitable place for disposal of manure generated by cattle so they looked for a possible solution using these excreta to avoid having to arrange them in places where they can be mainly farm vermin. In developing this research examined the possibility of installing a biogas pilot biodigester in the stable, for, as already commented give an application to the excreta generated in that barn. This barn has the raw material to supply the biodigester, plus enough land owners, which generate many benefits and opportunities for its various uses, such as the generation of electricity and gas for household consumption. For this began a background search in different parts of Mexico, give us a broader picture of the production of biogas, then began to sampling and characterization of manure to the digester design methodology was taken proposed in the thesis entitled "Design of a biodigester for Campus Villa San Luis de las Mercedes of Canton The Ships - Bolivar Province" of the Polytechnic School of the Litoral in Guayaquil Ecuador (2009), later determined the percentage composition of Biogas components obtained. In the study results did show that the biogas obtained meets the requirements to be exploited in generating either electricity or used to generate heat, this even considering that the barn is in a place with cold weather regularly. In the final results showed that there were the same compared to other projects in places with warmer climates, because anaerobic digestion operates more efficiently at high temperatures, but still results in the digester were sufficient to obtain biogas with the necessary characteristics for its use. This study shows that biogas is a real option for sustainable energy supply, with substantial advantages over other sources in addition to contributing to the decline in consumption of fossil fuels and energy sources in this particular case are expensive and difficult to access, reduces the effect of local and regional pollution in the barn " los Montaño " and helps to strengthen the family economy.
