LA VIVIENDA SUSTENTABLE EN EL MARCO DEL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO. CASO DE ESTUDIO: UNIDAD HABITACIONAL MILITAR EN LA ZONA METROPOLITANA DEL VALLE DE MÉXICO.

Abstract

This thesis is a product of professionalization and specialization of the armed forces members of Mexico as one of the actions carried out by the National Defense Secretary (SDN, for spanish acronym) within the framework of the National Development Plan (PND) in relation to environmental protection and mitigation of greenhouse gases (GHGs) by applying the principles of sustainability in the development of the constructions of Mexican Army and Air Force, as well as the calculation of GHG emissions in their units, departments and facilities using a methodology of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In this particular case in a military housing unit occupied by military personnel and their dependents In the Chapter 1 defines what is sustainability and sustainable development, and later in Chapter 2 identifies and discusses the criteria for sustainability in construction that can be applied to a building. Chapter 3 defines the concepts of global warming and climate change, and the measures undertaken by the League of Nations in mitigation and adaptation to climate change. Chapter 4 provides the close link between the sustainability of buildings and GHG emissions. In Chapter 5 performs a calculation of GHG emissions in a military housing unit type of the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM, for spanish acronym) as a result of the operation of the same, using the GHG Protocol methodology for inventories of organizations or people, with real information and updated as spearhead the development of inventories in units, departments and facilities Mexican Army and Air Force. In Chapter 6 apply sustainability criteria in the design of a military housing unit type for the ZMVM. Finally in Chapter 7 is carried out an analysis of some of the rating systems and national and international certification of buildings that apply sustainability criteria to propose one of these systems to guide the development of sustainable building SDN projects either for new construction and modification of existing ones.
