Resumen : Heterophryxus appendiculatus Sars, 1885 (Dajidae) infests at least four euphausiid species. Since 1885 it has been reported from only in seven locations worldwide. One free-swimming female specimen was discovered in zooplankton samples from the northeast Pacific Ocean and three more from the Caribbean Sea of Mexico. In the context of all previous geographical reports and zoogeographic distribution patterns of their euphausiid hosts we suggest that H. appendiculatus has a wide zoogeographic distribution in the tropical-temperate belt worldwide.
