ANÁLISIS DE LAS ESTRATEGIAS FINANCIERAS DE UNA EMPRESA FARMACÉUTICA TRANSNACIONAL QUE OPERA EN MÉXICO PARA EL CONTROL DE DAÑOS ORIGINADOS POR LA ACTUAL CRISIS ECONÓMICA

Abstract

Transnational pharmaceutical companies are facing big challenges, as the current economic crisis, patents expiration, generic drugs market expansion, increasing demand of innovator medications, changes in local regulation, and so forth. In view of this scene, the executives of these companies should develop strategies that help them to keep their firms in the market, to grow up, to increase their profits and being in the vanguard. In this dissertation, the objective stated was to identify the most important financial strategies that are being taken by one transnational pharmaceutical company that operates in Mexico for facing the current economic crisis. Once the problem was identified, the case of one of these companies was evaluated. In the first place, an analysis of its current status was performed and then, the benefits of strategies established are exposed. This analysis confirmed that transnational companies should expand their market coverage by acquisitions of other companies, doing this, they will be able to increase their sales income. As well, it was confirmed that in order to grow up and be able to offer innovator products, they should invest in research and development.
