Descripción : This work shows the experience of a series of didactic sequences applied to university students around concepts of polynomial function zero and polynomial equation root from a graphic perspective. This work is founded on the theoretical frame of Gay Brosseau’s Didactic Situation Theory, since the purpose of it, is to generate mathematical knowledge in the students through the design, analysis and study of didactic objects by organizing the entire milieu. The proposed graphical approach is based on visualization processes, and even though they demand high cognitive effort, they also generate reasoning by visual elements that help having a better mathematical understanding stimulating the mathematical discovery process. The present investigation comes out after applying a test, in which was found that students do not have the ability to answer questions from a graphical approach; the importance of this finding is more explicit in the need of interpreting graphics that map some situations to solve problems of life-world. Two graphical programs are used as technological tools to help achieve the understanding of the concepts presented. This investigation also tries, through the results, to find variables and information to enhance the sequences and make them useful as support material to professors when treating these topics from a visual perspective that breaks the algebraic and algorithmic tradition when teaching these topics.
