| Descripción : | This research work shows the results obtained from the analysis of students’ capability to interpret, symbolize and manipulate parameters when they appear in transformations of basic functions. The research project consists on the application of a series of classactivities to a group of students who are starting university, the activities include different questions intended to analyze the way students work with parameters. A graphical software called Graphmatica was used in the activities as learning and visualizing tool. The theoretical framework used in the analysis of each question and each answer, was the 3UV (uses of variable) model. All the activities were used by first semester university students in an Introduction to Mathematics course. |
