Título : Diseño de una secuencia didáctica, donde se generaliza el método de factorización en la solución de una ecuación cuadrática

Descripción : The research developed in this work around the problem that the people have trying to use the method of factoring as a general method in solving quadratic equations. To overcome this obstacle is proposing a way to find two numbers of which their addition and multiplication are known in a numerical and geometric environment, this knowledge is used by for factorize any trinomial square, thus generalizing the method. This work is set in one of the lines of research, developed within the IPN program of Mathematics Education CICATA: “Innovation for the teaching of mathematics”. The investigation is used to design a teaching sequence, which seeks that the person, who carries it out, has the opportunity to appropriate of the knowledge. To achieve this goal it is proposed that students work in different contexts: numeric, geometric, algebraic and application. In turn the principal strategy is that the knowledge is obtained by guided discovery, once it has carried out a series of learning activities, which involve mental abilities such as observation, skills as: observation, deduction, and prediction. Faced with these didactic situations one expects to encourage the teaching-learning meaningful, in order to positively impact on the teaching-learning of the mathematics. The design of the sequence is proposed as methodology to Engineering Didactics, and takes into account the components: didactic, epistemological and cognitive.
