Factores relacionados con la atención medica – quirúrgica urgente de casos con abdomen agudo, Hospital Regional 1º de Octubre, 2011

Abstract

In a hospital unit, surgical acute abdomen, the emergency physician should take into account the incidence and factors associated with the presence of complications secondary to surgical and medical care to reduce the risk of mortality. Objectives: To identify factors related to emergency surgical care of patients with acute surgical abdomen. Material and methods: This study was conducted at the Regional Hospital on October 1, Emergency Adults, September to December period of 2011, sample size 80 clinical records of cases admitted to the emergency department with a diagnosis of acute surgical abdomen. An observational, transversal, descriptive. Results: 58.8% of cases were women, age was 20.46 ± 47.78 years, frequent cause of hospital admission was not acute abdomen identified etiology. The diagnosis was post-surgical patients appendectomy, 60% of patients received pre-hospital care, 75% received pharmacological treatment prior to hospital admission and 35% of patients had complications such as sepsis and peritonitis. Conclusions: The management of patients with acute surgical abdomen is an entity in which diagnostic and treatment require updating. The management must be fast, efficient and requires a multidisciplinary treatment to reduce complications associated with surgical care.
