CARACTERIZACIÓN PETROFÍSICA INICIAL DEL CAMPO PETROLERO GAUCHO EN EL SURESTE DE MÉXICO

Abstract

This work was generated in order to understand the behavior of the petrophysical parameters of the field Gaucho, these parameters serve to quantify reserves in the reservoir, which we termed as zone A. This is also intended to justify the capital investment in new exploration wells with ample opportunities to find and exploit oil in the area and make major repairs to existing wells. To achieve all the objectives are considered the operation and detection of a petroleum system defined, we can prove the existence of its elements such as source rock, the reservoir rock, seal rock and trap geology. It is very important to point out the maturity of the petroleum system to achieve their migration and accumulation. Fractured environment was studied and their behavior, the types of rock, sedimentary facies, to define flow units that provide the oil. For all these studies had advanced geophysical logs taken in the field, these records were processed by obtaining good information for the original Basic petrophysical and eight wells where cores were cut, allowing to know in detail the quality of rock orientation of fractures and the basic parameters for the generation of petrophysical evaluations. The result was a portfolio of eight new locations that could help drain the remaining reserves in the area, also indicating their coordinates surface and underground geological contacts and possible oil-water contact
