IMPACTO ECONÓMICO Y ECOLÓGICO DE LA DEGRADACIÓN DE BOTELLAS DE PLÁSTICO EN MÉXICO

Abstract

The present work has the objective to announce the economic and ecological impact that represents the use of additives oxo-biodegradble in plastic pickings, in Mexico, during 2003 - 2008. This paper aims, to publicize the economic and ecological impacts posed by the use of oxo-biodegradble additives in plastic containers in Mexico, during 2003 to 2008. This period was used for reconciling the data reported by the System of National Accounts of Mexico and the data of the System of Ecological and Economics Accounts of Mexico. The economic impact was calculated getting the Ecological Net Internal Product, using as tool the methodology of the National Institute of Geography and Statistics, where the Net Internal Product is affected by the costs of degradation caused by contamination of packaging. Calculation was compared between the current situation where no additives are used and the picture with the use of these. A company obtains economic benefits, because these raise their level of sales for the prestige of their brand to a low production cost, also, it is not necessary to change the production process. The ecological benefit will be reflected in the environment, to eliminate the waste of plastic packaging, and reduce pollution in soils. If we would implement this technology in Mexico and in worldwide, the results would be more benefits for humans.
