Descripción : | We reported measurements of thermal diffusivity of bull bone, high purity titanium and stainless steel, by means of
photoacoustic technique in a heat transmission configuration, as well as, a microstructural analysis using scanning
electron microscopy in these materials. Our results indicate that the porosity and its direction in the bone are two
important factors in the heat diffusion, being greater, when the heat flows in the direction of the porosity. The measured
values of thermal diffusivity for the bone are very close to the reported ones in literature for coverings of hydroxyapatite
on metallic substrate, which indicates that these materials are thermally compatible. On the other hand, the values of
thermal diffusivity of the metallic samples defer in an order of magnitude from the samples from bone and
hydroxyapatite, being this difference greater in titanium than in the stainless steel. Research article of journal indexed in Padron-CONACYT Mexico Instituto Politecnico Nacional |
